I've been told that I should start a blog about the journeys that Kermit has made. But before I begin, perhaps I should tell the story of Kermit (not the actual Kermit the Frog, but my Kermit).
I purchased Kermit from Toys R Us the day after Christmas, 1992...so that would make him 18 years old (soon to be 19). I'm not sure what drew me to him...just a little Kermit in a nightshirt on the shelf...but I picked him up and from that day forward, he has been with me everywhere I have gone. He is my security blanket (even though I am 30 years old).
Now, everyone may be wondering what happened to him. He used to have big, puffy eyes and wear a nightshirt. Well, I used to put him in a pillowcase that zipped and throw him in the washer. One day, tiny holes developed at the top of said puffy eyes...and then the stuffing started coming out of them. Little by little, the holes got bigger and the stuffing came out...leaving his eyes the way they are now. I have had to superglue his "pupil" back on as well...and also sew his eyes back on. As for his neck...like I said, he used to wear a nightshirt...well when I first got him, I wanted to take his nightshirt off...but unfortunately, in order to do so, you must remove his head. I didn't get very far in removing his shirt, but after almost 19 years of being carried everywhere, the neck issue has gotten a lot worse. So it is necessary to perform surgery on him...not only his neck and his eyes, but pretty much his entire body.
So yes, he looks creepy and weird but I still think he's cute. And he's got quite the personality too. For those of you that know him, you know he "talks" (ok, he doesn't actually talk but I make him-yes, I'm crazy)...and you know that he is sarcastic and has a bad attitude. He likes to drink beer. And here he is...in his original nightshirt!
